1854 Wouldn’t Be Here Without You

When we started dreaming about 1854, we knew we wanted to create more than a wine shop. We wanted to create a place where people could gather, discover something new, share a few laughs, and feel at home. What we didn’t fully realize was just how many people would help bring that dream to life.

So, we want to take a moment to say thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

To our friends and family who have jumped in wherever we needed help — running the register, washing glasses, handing out flyers, supporting our music, counting inventory, picking up food, and a hundred other things — you have been such a huge part of making 1854 what it is today.

Melanie, Bill, Kate, Dali, Jeremy, Jennifer, Wade, Jill, Kathy, Keith, Amanda, Angie, Chris, Eron and the whole crew… our vendors, Nelson, Mary Catherine, our parents, our families, and so many others — we see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn’t have done this without you. There are so many more people to thank that we would be here all day trying to name everyone!

And to the vendors and local businesses who have helped us along the way, thank you for being part of this adventure and helping us bring something special to Opelika.

Most of all, thank you to our community. Opening our doors has been about so much more than bottles on shelves. It has been about the conversations, the laughter, the familiar faces, and the new friendships that are already beginning to form. We have loved meeting so many of you, hearing your stories, and sharing a little piece of what we’ve been dreaming about.

We know we’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to meet so many more of you.

Opelika, thank you for welcoming us in. Thank you for shopping local, showing up, spreading the word, and making us feel like we belong here. We are so grateful to be part of this community, and we’re excited for all the memories still to come.

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of the 1854 story. We love you all, and we’ll save you a seat!
